In fact the ABA mainstream has condoned, admired, rewarded, and/or actively promoted the JRC's extreme practices (<a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2742247/pdf/behavan00061-0093.pdf?tool=pmcentrez" rel="nofollow">past</a> and <a href="http://autismcrisis.blogspot.com/2009/05/saving-autistics-and-world-skin-shock.html" rel="nofollow">present</a>). <br /><br />A lot of relevant information became available only post-2006 (including the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Applied-Behavior-Analysis-John-Cooper/dp/0131421131/" rel="nofollow">new edition of the major ABA textbook</a>; oh and things like <a href="http://autismcrisis.blogspot.com/2009/03/autistic-children-in-small-windowless.html" rel="nofollow">this</a>), but also I was far too generous in giving those promoting ABA the benefit of the doubt. In fact I may still be making that error. <br /><br />Thanks for going beyond the M & M's to highlight the serious and ongoing problems in how autistic people are treated.Michelle Dawsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11279402169161555639noreply@blogger.com
