Your statement is offensive to all people with autism.Ameenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09517720745242791182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21605329.post-47320668285127333022012-04-05T17:01:24.531-07:002012-04-05T17:01:24.531-07:00I think the article refers just to people who are ...I think the article refers just to people who are on the spectrum, not necessarily exclusively "severely autistic" people (I believe the misinformed poster above referred to this subgroup as "genuine")?
Interviews of people on the spectrum would definitely add something to this article.O'Flynnshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14585319401388778319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21605329.post-89936989621566460802011-03-11T07:53:18.036-08:002011-03-11T07:53:18.036-08:00To anonymous. They are talking about people with genuine and severe autism who struggle to have conversations.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21605329.post-34877291390513563602010-11-10T02:53:11.761-08:002010-11-10T02:53:11.761-08:00It seems like scientists never actually talk to pe...It seems like scientists never actually talk to people with mental conditions in order to learn about the conditions.

What would really complete the article would be interviews of autistic people asking if they daydream and for them to describe their daydreams.

I've figured out I have Asperger's. I definitely do daydream, but it tends to be related to special interests more often than specific people or emotions. My special interests involve social sciences so I am often daydreaming about groups of people and sometimes nations and ethnic groups in society. I'm a bit of a paradox. I relate well to countries, minority groups, cultures, but when it comes to dealing with people as individuals I draw a blank.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
